Provides High Reliability, Low Power Consumption
HUNTSVILLE,
Ala. - September 16, 2003 - GE Fanuc Automation Americas, Inc., an
affiliate of GE Industrial Systems, today announced the VMICPCI-7757,
the latest addition to its range of CompactPCI® single board computers
(SBC). The VMICPCI-7757 is a universal SBC, designed to operate as a CompactPCI
system slot controller or peripheral slot processor board. Available with
either the Intel® ultra low voltage Celeron® 650 MHz processor or the
low voltage 933 MHz Pentium® III processor, the VMICPCI-7757's thermal
characteristics make it an excellent choice for embedded applications
requiring both high reliability and low power consumption.
Highly integrated, the VMICPCI-7757 offers up to 512 MB SDRAM, two Ethernet
controllers, and two high performance serial ports. Additional I/O options
can be added from GE Fanuc's wide range of modules via two on-board PCI
Mezzanine Card (PMC) sites.
GE Fanuc's VMICPCI-7757 complies with the high-availability provisions
of PICMG® 2.1 Rev 1.0 standard for CompactPCI, allowing the board to be
removed and replaced while the system is operational. The PCI-to-PCI bridge
interface is configured to automatically operate as either a transparent
or non-transparent bridge in full compliance with CompactPCI Rev 2.1,
PCI 2.1, and PCI-to-PCI Bridge Architecture Rev 1.1. The VMICPCI-7757
supports a variety of operating systems including Microsoft® Windows NT®,
Windows® 2000, Windows XP, QNX, Linux® and VxWorks®.
