GE
Fanuc To Highlight Machining Productivity Solutions at WESTEC
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - February 10, 2004 - GE Fanuc Automation
Americas, Inc., a unit of GE Infrastructure, will showcase its latest
technologies and services for machining productivity, including the new
top-of-the-line Series 30i CNC, adaptive control for milling and turning,
and self-installing retrofit solutions at the WESTEC Advanced Productivity
Exposition 2004 in Los Angeles, March 22-25 (Booth #3542). Additionally,
GE Fanuc will provide live demonstrations of high-speed machining, manual
guidance and turnkey probing solutions.
GE Fanuc’s booth will focus on improved productivity through faster
machining speeds, reduced cycle times, and increased machining capabilities.
Specific solutions that will be featured include:
- Series 30i CNC: Boasting some of the
most powerful and sophisticated CPUs and internal communication bus
technology available today, GE Fanuc’s new Series 30i-Model A CNC is
designed to help manufacturers achieve new levels of accuracy, reliability
and efficiency in all their machine tool operations. Businesses using
this new solution can reduce rework, increase throughput and become
more competitive than ever before.
- iAdapt for Milling and Turning:
GE Fanuc’s adaptive control productivity solution, iAdapt, automatically
maximizes a machine’s material removal rate during rough cutting. This
new and improved adaptive control system can reduce cycle times by as
much as 40 percent, increase tool life, and allow users to leverage
their existing installed base of CNC technology. iAdapt enhances
GE Fanuc’s suite of machine optimization products that are geared toward
improving machining at shops of all sizes, on both GE Fanuc/FANUC and
third-party controls.
- iRetro: The new self-installing
iRetro kit provides a state-of-the-art, high-quality control
for older machine tools that are otherwise mechanically sound. This
easy-to-use solution offers the productivity and efficiency boost of
a new control at a fraction of the cost of a new machine.
- GE Fanuc’s new Windows-based supervisory software
provides connectivity, data collection, and device-specific support
for a wide range of CNCs and machining processes manages and monitors
multiple CNC machine tools and supports operations such as parts machining,
data collection, remote diagnostics and state-change monitoring, as
well as enabling quick recovery in the event of a failure. Built on
GE Fanuc’s CIMPLICITY HMI software, provides OEE data directly from
the CNC and is capable of multiple communications interfaces.
In addition, GE Fanuc will be providing information
on its services packages, including:
- Machine optimization services: Adding
advanced new CNC and servo software to current machine tools can increase
speed and accuracy. GE Fanuc’s machine optimization software and services
packages are tailored to meet each user’s needs, from simple acc/dec
optimization to full NURBS and RISC processors;
- Troubleshooting guidance: Like having
a 24/7 resident expert on site, GE Fanuc’s Troubleshooting Guidance
provides easy, highly interactive troubleshooting for all levels of
expertise;
- Training and training simulators for
increased employee empowerment and capabilities;
- Option upgrades: Discover the full potential
of existing machines with Options upgrades;
