Wonderware Releases Service Pack 1 for SuiteVoyager™
2.0 Plant Information Portal Software
SP1 Offers Integration with Wonderware’s Industrial
Application Server and an Additional Multilingual Feature
LAKE
FOREST, Calif., March 3, 2003 -- Wonderware, an operating
unit of Invensys plc, today announced the release of Service
Pack 1 (SP1) for the SuiteVoyager™ 2.0 plant information
portal, which allows for the viewing of real-time and historical
information over the Internet and the delivery of plant intelligence.
SuiteVoyager
2.0 software with SP1 provides several new features and also
integrates tightly with Wonderware’s new FactorySuite
A²™ Industrial Application Server, the IndustrialSQL
Server™ 8.0 plant historian and InTouch® 8.0 human-machine
interface (HMI) software. The FactorySuite A² family
includes products that benefit from being built on Invensys’
new ArchestrA™ automation and information software architecture.
“This
is more than the usual service pack because it enables SuiteVoyager
users to leverage many additional features offered by the
ArchestrA architecture,” said Renee Robinson, product
marketing manager for Wonderware’s visualization products.
Invensys’
new ArchestrA architecture enables customers to extend and
improve the value of their automation, information and human
assets by unifying multiple vendor offerings and systems.
Current and emerging systems can be linked in an orchestrated
plant-level application model, maximizing total return on
investments.
SuiteVoyager
2.0 software with SP1 can integrate with Wonderware’s
new Industrial Application Server for real-time delivery of
event, process and quality information. The SuiteVoyager software
supports real-time data transfer and graphical windows facilitate
the acquisition and interaction of data from the Industrial
Application Server. In addition, the SuiteVoyager portal software
allows for the viewing of Industrial Application Server alarms.
It tightly integrates with Industrial Application Server security
to control user privileges throughout the application, whether
the information is displayed on a control node or over a browser.
SuiteVoyager
2.0 with SP1 users also can directly interface with Wonderware’s
IndustrialSQL Server plant historian, third-party historians
and data sources through SQL, ADO or OBDC data connectors
for rapid delivery of real-time quality and process reports.
SuiteVoyager
2.0 software with SP1 also integrates directly with the latest
version of Wonderware’s InTouch HMI software for industrial
automation, process control and supervisory monitoring. InTouch
8.0 graphical windows can be converted and published to the
SuiteVoyager software, displaying real-time process information.
In addition, with the SP1 release, new alarm fields in the
InTouch 8.0 HMI can be displayed through the SuiteVoyager
software, enabling better visualization of process changes.
“This
increased visualization is important for customers who need
to comply with government regulations, such as FDA 21 CFR
Part 11,” Robinson said. “From within the plant
or a continent away, companies can use SuiteVoyager software
and a browser to track who is making changes to their process
control systems.”
SuiteVoyager
2.0 software with SP1 also includes integrated support for
the Simplified Chinese language.
“As
more companies have moved their manufacturing facilities overseas,
Wonderware has seen a strong demand for products which enable
visualization of the industrial process from anywhere in the
world,” Robinson said. “Supporting the Simplified
Chinese language in the SuiteVoyager software opens the portal
to more of the Asia Pacific market.”
Integrated
language support in the SuiteVoyager software enables the
customer to view portal information in Simplified Chinese
without additional configuration. The SuiteVoyager portal
software senses the language of the browser and automatically
converts and displays all the portal text and messages in
that language. This multilingual feature is also available
for French, German and Japanese.
SuiteVoyager
2.0 software with SP1 provides visualization of real-time
and historical industrial information through a browser. It
leverages the latest in Web technology, enabling companies
to securely view information from one site or enterprise-wide,
without the need for additional software programming. SuiteVoyager
software is used in thousands of installations around the
world and in a variety of vertical markets, including food
processing, oil and gas, automotive, chemical, pharmaceutical,
pulp and paper, transportation, and utilities.
