Invensys’
Wonderware Business Unit Announces New Systems Integrator
Program Tier for FactorySuite A² – Built On ArchestrA
New
Program Tier Recognizes Market Leaders Proficient In Applying
ArchestrA Architectural Approach for Creating Open Industrial
Automation & Information Solutions
LAKE
FOREST, Calif., July 11, 2003 -- Wonderware, a business unit
of Invensys Systems, Inc., today announced the new FactorySuite
A²™ Certified Systems Integrator (SI) program tier
for systems integrators utilizing FactorySuite A² configurations
that are built on ArchestrA™ technology.
The
new tier recognizes systems integrators that have completed
specialized training designed to provide the skills necessary
to effectively implement ArchestrA-based Wonderware® FactorySuite
A² solutions featuring the Industrial Application Server
and have implemented FactorySuite A² projects in the
field.
The
new FactorySuite A² certification level is Wonderware’s
newest and most prestigious addition to its successful systems
integrator program. Existing program tiers have recognized
registered systems integrators and, at a higher level, certified
systems integrators who have achieved certification on one
or more products within Wonderware® FactorySuite®
products.
All
three current program tiers are intended to help customers
and distributors identify SIs that have the appropriate skills
to develop integrated solutions for their specific applications.
The
FactorySuite A² Certified Systems Integrator program
tier provides additional business growth and profitability
opportunities for SIs by recognizing proficiency in FactorySuite
A2 system integration.
By
using the ArchestrA Integrated Development Environment (IDE)
and ArchestrA Object Toolkits, SIs and customers are able
to take advantage of unprecedented levels of project engineering
productivity and software re-use. These capabilities reduce
the cost and time of developing and deploying new projects,
as well as reduce the need for ongoing maintenance, updates
and expansion.
“End
users and plant owners who want to reap the productivity and
ongoing lifecycle cost improvements of products built on ArchestrA
technology will have access to a pool of talented systems
integrators who have been trained to maximize the benefits
of ArchestrA technology,” said Mark Davidson, vice president
of ArchestrA marketing for Invensys.
“The
new program tier provides systems integrators with a credential
that recognizes their enhanced capability to work with Wonderware
products that are built on ArchestrA technology.”
The
ArchestrA architecture is an open framework for creating industrial
automation and information products, applications and services.
It includes an industrial applications development platform
on which customers, OEMs, systems integrators, third-party
developers and Invensys can develop efficient and competitive
production systems. The ArchestrA architecture enables the
re-use of engineering, which significantly reduces the cost
and time of developing new projects. The total cost of ownership
for projects is reduced as well, since using this architectural
approach facilitates easier extension and expansion of current
and legacy plant systems with the latest Microsoft.NET technology
so that production operations stay competitive.
