Invensys’
Wonderware Business Unit Receives Top Control Magazine Readers’
Choice Awards for HMI and SCADA Software
Wonderware Places First for HMI for 10th Consecutive Year; Jumps
from Second to First Place for SCADA Software
LAKE
FOREST, Calif., March 2, 2004 -- Wonderware, a business unit
of Invensys Systems, Inc., today announced that Control magazine
readers have awarded Wonderware first place in the HMI and
SCADA software categories as part of the magazine’s
2004 “Readers’ Choice Awards.”
Earning
36 percent of the vote, with the second place winner at 22
percent, 2004 is the 10th consecutive year that Wonderware
ranked No. 1 in the “Software, Human Machine Interface”
category. The Wonderware HMI has ranked first for HMI since
Control magazine began offering an HMI category in 1995. Wonderware’s
SCADA software earned 25 percent of the Control readers’
votes, jumping 14 percent from last year’s 11 percent
second-place ranking.
“Control
magazine’s Readers’ Choice Awards are truly representative
of the performance of the companies that are selected,”
said Walt Boyes, editor-in-chief of Control magazine. “In
both the product and services categories, companies like Wonderware
show year after year that, in a completely fair and unbiased
poll, they continue to provide quality to their users. The
poll is conducted via e-mail to a carefully cleaned and screened
list, which allows one vote per respondent. The questions
are open-ended and a company has to receive at least 5 percent
of the votes in a category to be listed.”
As
part of the magazine’s 12th annual awards program, Control
editors surveyed more than 24,000 selected subscribers. The
readership was asked to name the top vendors in 65 industrial
automation technology categories and rate their customer service.
“The
readers of Control magazine are experts in their fields and
their selection of Wonderware applications for the magazine’s
Readers’ Choice Awards marks a significant achievement
for Wonderware and Invensys,” said Steve Lewarne, vice
president of marketing. “This award recognizes that
Wonderware keeps the needs of its customers top-of-mind when
developing products -- and we will continue our efforts to
bring innovative products to the manufacturing and industrial
automation marketplace.”
